S. Derby Gisclair

A lifelong resident of New Orleans, S. Derby Gisclair is a member of the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) and its 19th Century, Oral History and Pictorial History Committees. He is a Sustaining Member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He is on the Nominating and Selection Committees for the New Orleans Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum.

Mr. Gisclair has written several articles and is a noted speaker at regional and national conferences on baseball history. He is the editor of Between the Lines, an annual compendium of baseball research and articles from the Schott-Pelican Chapter of SABR. He also offers a website on the history of baseball in New Orleans – www.NewOrleansBaseball.com.

His first book, Baseball in New Orleans, was published in April of 2004 by Arcadia Publishing. His next book, Baseball at Tulane University, was released by Arcadia inFebruary of 2007. He is also compiling material for a history of the New Orleans Pelicans.

When he is not watching, researching or writing about baseball, Mr. Gisclair is the Chief Operating Officer of Equitas Capital Advisors, an institutional investment management consulting firm headquartered in New Orleans serving in excess of $3 billion in assets.
